MASS GRAVE IN JAPAN

the people of japan are still in shock as more and more bodies are being scooped up from the streets by workers sifting through the wreckage of the city in Miyagi, one of the worst hit areas of Japan's northeast coast.A former garbage dump is used as a mass grave site for hundreds who have so far perished.the first of the haunting pictures emerged today, with still-grieving volunteers digging a macabre pit in Higashimatsushima to bury their their dead. The long trench containing crude pieces of ply-wood in place to separate the coffins looked more like the foundations of a building site than a final resting place, but finally, hundreds of Japanese people killed by the tsunami will be laid to rest in one of the country's first mass burials since the life-shattering earthquake struck on March 11.the death toll is now estimated at 18,000 and more people are still missing.the worst is still feared as Japan continues to battle radiation leaks at the stricken Fukushiman nuclear plant which suffered a number of explosions and fires at its reactors.a once popular ten-pin bowling alley is now being used as a makeshift morgue.
