songwriter Martin Hugh,who wrote the very popular christmas song--'have yourself a merry little christmas',passed away just yesterday night at his home in Encinitas, Calif.according to his niece suzanne Harnnes,96yrs old Hugh died from natural causes.His other famous works include "make a wish; Best foot forward; High spirits; Hooray for what?; The boy next door; trolley song.The birmingham born songwriter never married and had no children,he is survived by his brother 'Gordon martin',his nephews 'Gordon martin junior and Hugh Martin III.And nieces 'Hanners and Lua Martin Wells'.Hugh was nominated for best original song Academy Awards for "The Trolley Song" in 1944 and "Pass the Peace Pipe" from "Good News" in 1947.
